Gang member gets 9 years for killing, burning Saskatoon man
SASKATOON – A 20-year-old Saskatoon man has pleaded guilty to killing and burning the body of a man in a dumpster. Shelby Pinnell admitted to manslaughter in the death of Mervin McAdam in February 2012. Pinnell was 18 and a member of the Terror Squad street gang when he committed the crimes. His defence lawyer described him as “unwanted, unloved and brutalized viciously” throughout a childhood that saw him shuttled between 45 foster homes between the ages of six and 15.
